From a very young age, Gregor was taught myriad styles of fighting. Swords to barehanded--anything you could think of, he was taught. This was due to his lineage and was set up to become the Ironhold head when he was older. His father was quite strict towards him and his siblings while his mother doted upon them. Training with his father was rigorous and he had to live up to his father's expectations. Due to such expectations, Gregor became regarded as stalwart among his peers. Eventually, the young Hyur began to enroll as a knight, deciding to use his strength not only for the name and nobility of his family, but of that for those who were considered weak and defenseless--much like his father before him was. It was said that Gregor was once a very proud, noble knight that was considered incredibly strong of his time. Perhaps he still was. His father was quite happy that his eldest child was so obedient, strong, kind. Everything a child, in his eyes, should be.However, one day while out patrol, Gregor had met a Roedaygn. He and the lady Roedaygn became fast friends and became smitten with each other. This lead into one thing after another...and well, a year passed and a certain little half Roe/Hyur was born. Gregor's partner basically gave up on him and the daughter and left them...which caused Gregor to have to quit his dream of being the best knight one could be, to take care of his infant child. This prompted Gregor to take up the trade of hunting and fishing for things for money as well as teach those who couldn't defend themselves and wanted to, to fight for themselves. He just honestly wanted to make a decent living while raising his little girl, whom he loved more than life itself and he didn't want to necessarily rely on his family's incredibly full coffers to allow him to live a 'nice, full' life. Instead, the Hyur wanted to make sure that he could also instill some good things in Kristell. To teach her to work for herself, do things for herself so she never had to rely on anyone else but herself. He knew he wouldn't always be around as she got older. Life wasn't always kind and it wasn't always pretty but he just wanted to make sure she was happy and well taken care of. He strove for that. Gregor also ended up picking up pictures, becoming a photographer while Kristell was so young. He became pretty good at it and always took pictures of her everywhere and any time he could...and also really liked showing off pictures of Kristell, much to his daughter's embarassment.Gregor always looked over Kristell and watched over her. He always sacrificed things for her and never once did anything for himself, really. Maybe, one day he would.

Personality
Gregor is a very kind and compassionate man. He tends to look after others as much as he can; as often as he can. He believes that everyone could use a little kindness in their lives. He is also competitive at times but always finds it amusing even if he doesn't win at whatever competition he's in. The man believes in laughing (albeit not all the time) in the face of danger. He knows he is not immortal and yet, he is always trying to boost the morale of those around him. Due to the fact that he was on the front lines in his younger years as knight,. Gregor knows that morale is the best thing for any group of people. Good morale leads to a higher success rate in the things that need to be done. He is always jovial and is grinning like an idiot from ear to ear. The Highlander can also be charming when he wants to be and is always attempts his best to be a gentleman. If you are dear to him in some way, shape, or form, Gregor will try his best to look after you and protect you. Rumors have gone around that if he really likes you enough (platonically), then he will attempt to adopt you. He kind of does that. The man also has sworn off dating unless the right person comes along...
However, for all the good that Gregor has in his personality, there is some bad. He is incredibly stubborn in the fact that if something has upset him or hurt him in some way, Gregor will notably try to say nothing about it as to not worry those around him. He doesn't believe he is worth worrying about even though he is always attempting to put his foot forward in day to day life.
Ironhold Family
Lore
The Ironhold family is quite the vast family, with many various branches of it. Gregor's family is the main branch and it only consists of him and his daughter, Kristell. However, he does have one sister, a highly talented seamstress, who has some children of her own and his younger brother, who is in Sharlayan as a scholar. His father and mother before him, live out quiet days in Shirogane. Various other family members (who are not listed here) take up many different jobs (Black Smithing, Armorer, etc) but most take up being a knight or warrior of some sort; which they are not limited to any specific kind of weaponry.
Their coffers are vast and large since every Ironhold household puts a small portion of gil every week/month that they earn into the Ironhold family vault. This vault is accessed in emergencies incase one particular family member of any sort is in dire need of it. It can only be accessed by the Head of the family, Gregor and in time, Kristell when she succeeds him.

Family Traits
Due to their lineage, Ironholds are known for their insane physical strength. They're capable of breaking things with ease and able to carry most heavy weapons single handledly (IE Great Axe). However, because of their vast and terrifying physical strength, their magical abilities aren't as good as the average magic user. Most struggle with forming magic but when they are capable, they use their magic defensively. However, straining themselves without having trained their magic could potentially be fatal and it is a terrifying risk to take. Most Ironholds have vibrant red hair and beautiful blue eyes. There are many cases of mixed races (such as Kristell) that do not entirely embody the red hair or blue eyes trait, but still have the physical strength to back it up. A good handful of them always love and adore sparring for the fun of it. It allows them to practice their techniques further and to potentially make them even more stronger in the process.Family members who have the Ironhold gene are not only subject to have natural, terrifying physical strength and potentially fatal magic, but also have bottomless pits for stomachs. They can eat and it takes them a while to get their fill. This is because of how much energy they burn every day. Their enhanced strength causes them to intake as many calories as they can so they can stave off any energy usage they used. However, not every Ironhold is capable of also having an iron-like stomach when it comes to cases such as ingesting liquor. Gregor, for example, can drink as much as he like and potentially get drunk if he ingests far too much of it...however, with Kristell, she is a lightweight in comparison.
